Revolutionary Technology for the Visually Impaired
The Remote Coxswain, conceived and released in 2017, is an adaptive rowing tool that allows individuals who are visually impaired to participate in water activities that involve rowing. Featured on NPR, Row Perfect UK, and Hear the Boats Sing, our remote controlled rudders are custom made. Contact us for more information
The Remote Coxswain was developed initially with rowing in mind. The device can be retro-fitted on shells, and controlled remotely by a "coxswain" on a powerboat, up to 500 feet away. It has been approved by some racing boards to be used competitively. It ensures the rower remains on course.

This remote-controlled rudder can also be used recreationally, on kayaks, controlled by a third-party. Blind groups often kayak in shallow areas, and the relative safety of the group can be improved with the Remote Coxswain.

The Remote Coxswain can be retro-fitted on nearly any water boat powered by humans. Please contact us for more information.
